ACA is proud to co-sponsor this event with the Confucius Institute at Wayne State University as a fun way to introduce the tastes of Chinese culture. Last year's contest was so much fun, we decided to do it again this year. There will be five teams of four people. Dishes will be judged on visual appeal, taste, nutrition, and creativity. This free event is co-sponsored by the Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) and the Confucius Institute at Wayne State University. Come cheer on the teams as they compete for prizes in several categories. Teams will prepare and cook their dishes onsite. A panel of judges and the audience will sample the dishes and vote for their favorites to determine the winners in each category. Teams of four cooks will prepare dishes for the panel of judges and audience to vote for. The teams will have 120 minutes to prepare and cook four dishes: one main dish (rice or noodle) Chinese style; one specialty dish (in a Chinese local tradition); one dessert Chinese style; and one dish with the secret ingredient which will be announced at the start of the contest.
